第 5 世代インテル® Core™ プロセッサー・ファミリーを発表

～ 次世代のコンピューティングパワーで、より自然なユーザー体験を提供 ～

　インテル株式会社（東京本社：東京都千代田区丸の内 3-1-1、代表取締役社長 江田 麻季子）は本日、インテルの先進 14nm（ナノ・メートル）プロセス技術を採用する第 5 世代インテル® Core™ プロセッサー・ファミリーを発表しました。第 5 世代インテル® Core™ プロセッサー・ファミリーは、インテルの 14nm プロセス技術の採用により、前世代と比較して、トランジスター数を 35％増加させたと同時に、ダイの大きさを 37％縮小しました。14nm プロセス技術により、第 5 世代インテル® Core™ プロセッサー・ファミリーはアーキテクチャーが強化されただけでなく、グラフィックス性能を最大 24％ *1 向上、また動画変換を最大 50％ *1 高速化しています。さらに電源管理や設計面での強化によりバッテリ－駆動時間を最大 1.5 時間 *2 延長しています。

　第 5 世代インテル® Core™ プロセッサー・ファミリーは、インテル® HD グラフィックスを搭載した TDP（熱設計電力）15W プロセッサーの 10 モデルと、インテル® Iris™ グラフィックスを搭載した TDP 28W プロセッサーの 4 モデルの合計 14 モデルで提供されます。強化されたインテルのグラフィックスは、美しい映像を再現し、インテル® ワイヤレス・ディスプレイ（インテル® WiDi）5.1 を含む 4K Ultra ディスプレイに対応 *3 します。また、インテル® RealSense™ 3D テクノロジーと組み合わせることで、パスワードを使用せず、音声認識機能を用いてログインしたり、ジェスチャーによる操作など、より自然でインタラクティブなユーザー体験を実現します。

　第 5 世代インテル® Core™ プロセッサー・ファミリーは、ノートブック PC、2 in 1、Ultrabook™、Chromebook*、オールインワン・デスクトップ PC やミニ PC などの、様々なクライアント・フォームファクターや市場の拡大が進む Internet of Things（IoT）分野などへ、次世代のコンピューティング・デバイスの設計に向けた広範な選択肢を提供します。これにより、同ファミリーに採用される 14nm の Broadwell マイクロアーキテクチャー（開発コード名）は、インテルのモバイル分野において、最も速く、アーキテクチャーの移行が進むと期待されています。

　第 5 世代インテル® Core™ プロセッサー・ファミリーを搭載したシステムは、様々なメーカーから 1 月より発表される予定です。インテルはまた、14nm プロセス技術を採用したインテル® Pentium® とインテル® Celeron® プロセッサーの提供も開始しました。本日発表の新製品の詳細は別紙を参照ください。
